Boss Bill Fires Two State Employes

It is understood in Augusta that Boss Bill Morris, the head of the Zezra Party in Richmond County, has been busying himself recently in an effort to fire all of the state employees in this section and get him a new crowd of his own picking.

It is known that he has made several trips to Atlanta demanding that the Acting Governor and the heads of the different State Departments fire this one and that one.

He has made several trips to Atlanta demanding that Hy Farris, Superintendent of the State Liquor Warehouse in Augusta, be removed from the payroll. Acting Governor H. E. M. Thompson didn't like the idea of firing Farris because Farris contributed to his campaign for Lt. Governor and was very active in the city on behalf of the Acting Governor in his race for Lieutenant Governor.

Got Hy's Scalp

Boss Bill had to make several trips but finally, over the protest of the State Revenue Commissioner, Hy Farris last week received his notice and has now been fired on the demand of Boss Bill.

Boss Bill has been after all the others from the Highway Department down to the lowly Milk Board. This week, F. J. Pritchard, milk inspector for the State Milk Control Board, received his notice that he was removed from the payroll at the urgent demand of Boss Bill.

Boss Bill has been after Harry Bailey's scalp, who works for the State Revenue Department.

Bailey was with the Department when M. T. Thompson was State Revenue Commissioner and campaigned all over Georgia for Thompson's election as Lieutenant Governor.

Bailey has not been fired as yet and it is understood that being a personal friend of the new Revenue Commissioner, who lives at Harlem, that he is to stay on.

Runs Into Hornet's Nest

How many names Boss Bill has on his list and is trying to fire is not definitely known. Most of the reports come out after their last

head has been chopped off.

Boss Bill ran into a hornet's nest in the Highway Department because all of the counties in this section who supported both Acting Governor Thompson and Herman Talmadge were in favor of keeping the highway employees. So Me Too Thompson had the choice of siding with Bill or all of his friends in the other twenty-six counties in this district.

But Boss Bill still has his list and he is still running up to Atlanta trying to get somebody's head chopped off every week.
