Full Text

New York Election.—The majority for Clark, Whig, over Seymour, "Soft," is reported at 315 and 319 &c. It appears the trouble has been with a new County of Schuyler, and the blundering Clerk of Oswego, who ciphered Clark's majority up at 1,007, and then after nine days more, employed on the returns from twenty-two towns, in Oswego County, succeeded in giving Clark 1,407 majority. The Clerk of Oswego is a "Soft," however, and was most likely endeavoring to elect Seymour, but D. C. Littlejohn, Whig, watched him and says there is no mistake about the 1,407.

Of course not.
