The Snow with Provincial Troops, arrived here last Saturday se'nnight is called the Friendship, William Sherry, Master, in whom came Capt. Lemuel Dunbar and 80 Troops belonging to this Province :

The Account of the Disasters which befell them are as follow, viz. That on the 6th of November they left Halifax in the Morning, and about 7 o'Clock in the Evening as they were going about 7 Knots, their Rudder broke just above Water, and all the lower Part went off ; a violent Storm then came on whereby they could not carry the least Sail, but were obliged to lay at the Mercy of the Seas to the 10th of the Month on the Morning of which they discovered Land on both Sides the Vessel, and being unable to put their Ship about were drove before the Wind till they were within a Mile of the Land, when they dropt Anchor, which held them till the next Day ; just at Light they descried a Schooner, and making Signals he came to them, and informed them that they were at the Entrance of the East Passage of Cape Sables, called Barrington's Bay ; by the Help of the Schooner the Snow was carried in, and had a Rudder fixed by the 17th : In the Evening of that Day 6 of the Soldiers being ashore hired two of the Inhabitants to carry them on board in a Canoe; the Wind blowing very fresh the Canoe filled and overset, five of them got on her Bottom and continued there for the Space of an Hour, the Owner of the Canoe continued on her Bottom an Hour longer, when he was heard from the Shore, upon which they got a Boat and took him up, and being carried on board the Snow informed them of the Loss of the six Soldiers, whose Names were as follow :

Clement Crane, of Braintree; Benjamin Johnson, jun'r, Nathaniel Ramsdell, and John Pratt, of Bridgewater ; Ignatius Cushing, of Duxbury ; David Morse, of Plympton ; and one of the Inhabitants that was hired to bring them off.
