ELECTRIC LIGHT BILL
Not long:
Special Telegram to the Sunday Register.

CHARLESTON, February 7—There has been no action taken upon the Wheeling electric light bill to-day, and the situation apparently has not materially changed since yesterday. The opponents of the bill seeing that the bill will pass are endeavoring to have the bill amended so as to require the city to take part of the electrical plant off their hands. Your correspondent heard to-day that Senator Whitaker would oppose the bill. I asked Mr. Whitaker if he would object to state his position upon the bill, and he replied that he preferred not to say anything upon the subject. It is currently reported that he will fight the bill unless the city makes some concession to the Electrical company.
