"After a road is built the trouble and expense of maintaining it is merely nominal," said Silas Avery, chairman of the board of commissioners of Tulsa county, and a good roads enthusiast. "If some spend money to build a road and then do not take care of it the money absolutely is thrown away. We have a man designated to take care of certain sections of roadway in our county. After a rain each man goes over the road in his district with a drag. This keeps our roads in perfect condition." It is said that Tulsa county has the best kept highways in the state and it can well be believed in the light of the above statement.
