Rabid Dog.—Yesterday morning, a large dog of the bull and mastiff breed entered the Police office, in the Park, in a state of great excitement, and evidently laboring under canine madness. Fortunately there were but few persons present and the animal made for the back room, into which he was safely locked by Merritt. Here tore the furniture, bit and broke sundry bags of clothing and other articles, making the most ferocious attacks upon the door when any one partially opened it to take a view of the dangerous prisoner. At length a gun was procured, and proper arrangements made to prevent his egress, without interfering with a good aim at the brute, which fell dead at the first fire.—N. Y. Express.
