Failed to Get Damages.

Kansas City, July 16. A verdict of acquittal was returned this afternoon in the suit for libel against John C. Shea by Rev. Henry D. Jardine, rector of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in this city. The defendant admitted the circulation of a pamphlet charging indecent conduct on the part of the rector toward certain female members of the congregation, and maintained that the charges were well-founded. A libel suit by Mr. Jardine for $50,000 against the Times, of this city, is still pending.
