COL. JAMES A. WILLIAMSON.-We had a call from this distinguished Iowa soldier, and were much pleased to find him in the enjoyment of excellent health and spirits. Col. Williamson went out as Adjutant of the Iowa 4th, and for gallant conduct was made Colonel. He has been in many battles, some of them the most terrible of the war, and he has always proved the man of great courage as well as ability to manage men. He has more than earned a star and we hope soon to herald his promotion. He left for the gallant 4th to-day, and will re-enter the service with that veteran regiment.
