Full Text

SAVANNAH, MAY 5.

By the arrival of the schooner Lydia, Captain Darley, 6 days from St. Augustine, we learn that some of his Catholic Majesty's bigotted subjects are as much alarmed at the idea of being reduced to citizens of a Republic, as they would be if they were to be brought under the dominion of Satan! Many were preparing to move to Havana; but not being ignorant of the increased value of their lands and houses, which their misfortune had occasioned, they demanded such high prices for them as to confound speculators not a little. For our part, we heartily wish the whole of them a safe passage to whatever country they may prefer to honor with their residence. Chronicle.
