Explosions In Jerusalem; Govt. Can't Find Em

JERUSALEM, (AP)—Eight mysterious explosions, shattering the peace of the Jewish New Year festival of Rosh Hashanah in Jerusalem, were reported during the night, and police today still were trying to find out where they occurred.

The blasts, heard in widely scattered areas in new sections of the Holy City, set off two general alarms, one lasting 35 minutes and the second about an hour.

"I know you'll think it funny," a government official told questioning reporters. "but police have been working all night and failed to find any traces of the explosions."
