Extract of a letter from Philadelphia, dated July 29.

"You have, no doubt, seen the proceedings of the town-meeting in this place; the committee appointed to bring forward resolutions were, perhaps, as respectable as ever appeared on any public occasion. The business was settled with the greatest harmony, and without a disputing voice in both meetings.

After the last adjournment they proceeded to acts of violence, by breaking Hammond's* windows, burning the treaty before Bingham's† door, and stoning him, as he rode in his carriage, with P. Bond. Every body have returned to their occupation waiting with anxiety the decision of the President."
