Special Correspondence.
Healdton, I. T., Aug. 19.-Hot days and cold nights all this week.
Farmers say that cotton is doing well on low lands.
Corn will soon be dry enough to crib.
Our seven winners in the great land lottery have gone to look at their winnings and to file.
Orme & Whaley are rushing work on their gin.
A big meeting is in progress at Iron Top. The attendance is good.
Our community has built a large and comfortable arbor and a meeting will begin here tonight. Notan and West are due much praise in their efforts in getting the arbor put up.
Now let some one, three or five. step up and agitate the road question and go to work with Ardmore's aid.
A son has arrived at the house of J. M. Dunn.
Mrs. Lee Herald has been quite sick.
Mr. and Mrs. King lost an infant child Tuesday. Buried her on Wednesday last. Mrs. King is the daughter of D. O. Davis.
J. W. Orme moved some cattle to a pasture about fifty miles north of this place. He is still away. J. B. and J. A. Whaley also moved some cattle to the same point.
Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Collins are visiting in Colbert this week.
Some few visited the Graham picnic the 15th and 16th.
Joe Ward of Hewitt was on our streets this week.
