Full Text

The French are unwilling to declare War against us themselves, for fear of losing ground even among their present advocates. But if Spain should be at War with us, our Generous Allies the French, having a Treaty offensive and defensive with Spain, would say to us don't be angry friends, for the French nation ever faithful in the strict observance of their Treaties, are under the disagreeable necessity of making a common cause with Spain.
