Clayton Elkins is working for C. L. M. Bugbee in his jewelry store.

Lorenzo Manuel has purchased of W. E. Tuck two lots on Highland avenue.

Rev. A. F. MacGregor of Toronto has accepted the call from the Cong. church to become its pastor. He commences his work August 12.

J. F. Carey has moved into Mrs. A. W. Brown's house.

Edgar Barnes has moved into one of W. N. Kinnie's tenements on Summer street.

W. E. Tuck and family have gone to Newport, R. I., to make their future home. Sorry to lose them from our community.

Roy Skinner has closed his labors for the Boston & Maine Railroad Co.

N. L. Foster is assisting in the store of E. S. Ball during his absence.

D. Moranville of Fitch Bay is at work for C. E. Stoliker in his restaurant.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Chamberlin have gone to Bolton Springs for a week.

Mrs. M. J. Blair has returned from Enosburgh Falls. Her mother, Mrs. Chaffee, came with her to remain two weeks.

Mrs. Alice Story has gone to Island Pond and Lancaster N. H., for a two weeks' visit.

Tom Allchurch who has been here visiting his sister, Mrs. D. A. Dolloff, has returned to Boston.

Mrs. Allchurch of Barton visited her daughter, Mrs. D. A. Dolloff, over Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. James Peters have returned from a week's visit at Magog, Que.

Geo. B. Root and family of Lowell, Mass., are visiting relatives in town.

C. W. Talge and wife from Wisconsin are in town. Mr. Talge is here to look after the setting of the machinery at Frost's Veneer Seating Co. mill.

E. I. Drury, of Montpelier, general agent for the Conn. General Life Insurance Co., is here with Agent O. H. Rawson.

Hon. C. A. Prouty is in town.

Mrs. Statta and son of Montreal are visiting at Mrs. E. M. Clark's.

Prof. Roseberry of Ottawa, Ill., is visiting at Theophilus Grout's, where his wife has been with her parents for several weeks.

Mrs. McFarland of St. Johnsbury and Mrs. Powers of Burlington are visiting at A. C. Fairbrother's.

Mr. Samuel Taylor a former resident here is in town from Massachusetts calling on old friends and acquaintances.

Miss Lillian West is here from Boston for a vacation of five weeks, stopping with her mother, Mrs. Geo. West.

Will Green is home from Worcester, Mass., for a two weeks' vacation.

Mrs. S. H. Campbell of St. Johnsbury is visiting in town.

Lena Cushman, who has been visiting at O. H. Rawson's, has returned to her home in Burlington.

Ernest Puffer and Fred Cole are visiting at E. E. Puffer's.

The Misses Nelson of Burlington visited Marjory Batchelder last week.

C. C. Alfred of Fairfax visited his brother, Judge F. E. Alfred the past week.

Victor Drolett has returned from Granby, Que., and is now working in the blacksmith shop of Ephraim Nollett.

Orrin Sias and John Roque have returned from a six weeks' trip to Europe. They visited London, Paris, Brussels and Antwerp and several other large cities.

Fred Blunt is camping at Baldwin Bay.

Mrs. B. S. Curtis and son are visiting at East Clifton, Que.

Mrs. C. S. Smith, a former resident here now of Massachusetts, was here the past week. She has gone with her daughter to Sherbrooke.

Mrs. Carl French and family of Barton Landing recently visited Mrs. French's parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Richmond.

B. F. Moore and wife visited in Holland last week.

Elmer Edmunds, wife and daughter are visiting in Westfield.

Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Ball have gone to Boston where Mrs. Ball will enter a hospital for treatment.

L. E. Thayer and family have returned from a visit to Randolph, Northfield and White River Junction.

Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Bartlett, H. S. Root and Elisha Lane have returned from Caledonia Springs.

Frank Bemis is spending his vacation with his parents in Whitman, Mass.

Park Farrell has returned from Grafton, Vt., and Keene, N. H., where he has been the past two weeks.

Miss Marjory Batchelder has gone to Caspian Lake for a week.

Mrs. Homer Thrasher has returned from Lisbon and Bath, N. H., where she has been on a visit to friends.
