Full Text
Tom Lorrillard and Frank Kirby, two young men evidently from the country, were arrested last night on Commerce street by Officer Bennett for being disorderly. Bennett says three negro women came to him and complained that two men had been insulting and annoying them without cause. Bennett accompanied the women to where a group of men were standing when they pointed out these two individuals as the culpable parties, and Bennett was directing them not to annoy the women when they became very disorderly, cursed the women and threatened all sorts of dire mischief. The officer then arrested them, but they soon gave bond and went tearing about town hunting the officer. They became so disorderly in the Recorder's Court this morning that the Marshal ordered them to be put out of court, which was done in short order. The trials of the gentlemen come up to-morrow.
