The following casuistical distinction embraced in a dispatch from Charleston, West Va., to the Baltimore Sun is worthy of a Sancho Panza or of the Texas court of appeals. The dispatch reads: "An indictment by the grand jury of Boone county against Judge C. P. Latham for 'playing cards' was dismissed. It was proven by two attorneys, who were admitted to be authorities upon the subject, that there was no such game mentioned in Hoyle as 'cards,' but that cards were pieces of pasteboard with which games of various names are played."
