Board of Commerce directors, committee chairmen and public officials will hear Joyce O'Hara, press representative of the United States Chamber of Commerce, Feb. 24, at a noon luncheon. At a directors' meeting Tuesday noon in Hotel Huron, James Warner L. M. Thomas and Harvey C. Holmes were named to fill board vacancies created by C. S. Manning, who has moved from the city; J. Lester Miller, who resigned because of business activities, and Max E. Williams, who died. Paul Ungrodt, member of the Detroit area transportation committee, reported on the recent Detroit meeting concerning transportation of bomber plant workers. Announcement was made of a meeting of the committee Thursday noon in Detroit. Names of the Board of Commerce housing committee are being sent to Lansing for state confirmation. Knowell Hart is replacing T. Fred Older and Fred M. Greenstreet. Ross K. Bower. Other committee members are R. B. Haig, chairman; Nelson Boutell, Alfred T. DeOtte, R. S. Gerganoff and Ward Swarts. P. Alex Seedorff, chairman of the hospital expansion committee, reported that he had a representative in Washington Tuesday checking on the status of the Ypsilanti request for financial aid in erecting a hospital. Dr. J. J. Woods was asked to contact Kellogg Foundation officials and arrange for a meeting to discuss hospital financing. Previously, the Kellogg people, because of their limited expansion policy, declined to aid Ypsilanti. The foundation has now expanded its policy and is able to serve more counties.
