The exceeding inclemency of the weather, a violent rain storm, rendered it imprudent to adjourn to the State House yard, and to attempt business in the Court Room was out of the question. A motion was made and carried, to adjourn to the Musical Fund Hall. Thither, then, a large portion of the immense multitude repaired. We were informed by the person who has the care of the Hall, that between three and four thousand persons obtained admission; but a vast number, some have said many more, retired for want of accommodations. Had the day been pleasant, Independence Square would have presented an appearance of numbers which, perhaps, it never before, with one exception, presented.—Philadelphia U. S. Gazette.
