Full Text
The reception and ball to be tendered to Senator Morgan is a very proper recognition of that statesman's untiring efforts on behalf of this country. Senator Morgan came here to see with his own eyes the conditions existing on the Islands, and every opportunity has been given him of personally becoming acquainted with our people of all classes.
During his stay he has been entertained, but he has not been so overwhelmed with attentions that he has been unable to make private investigations on his own account. He has used his opportunities to the utmost, and will return to the United States with a fund of valuable information, in addition to what he has already acquired by reading and study.
The public reception of Monday night will give the Senator one more opportunity of seeing his many friends, and will serve to show him in what great estimation he is held by the people of Hawaii.
