Humanities Course Set For Adults At Springs

A college education in miniature will be available to adults taking the Introduction to the Humanities course offered during evening classes at the College of St. Mary of the Springs. The course will be given once a week, double period, for two semesters.

The course crosses departmental lines and will be taught by professors from the English, art, and music departments. Records, slides, pictures and paper-backed texts will be used in conjunction with the lectures. A portion of each class period will be devoted to discussion by the participants of a limited number of significant works selected from several fields of achievement.

The lectures will be designed to promote pleasure in the arts of reading, looking, and listening, which arts are the foundation of the enjoyment and appreciation of the creative achievements of mankind.
