Full Text

Spring Care of Sheep.

This is a most important month for those who have the care of sheep. Allowing that they have got along well so far through the winter, it will not do to let them grow poor now—it will not do to slacken in the least at this time of the year, thinking that the hardest of the winter is over—it will not do to think that the time will soon come when they will go from the barn, and that if they do not get as good care as they have had, they will live through the winter. It is necessary that they should have good care now, that they may be kept right along through the entire winter in good condition. It makes a great deal of difference in the value of the fleece whether a sheep is kept healthy and in good condition during the entire winter or not. Wool that comes off of poor sheep is not worth half as much as that which comes from healthy ones.
