Ban of Alaska Fish Traps
If Case Comes to Court

WASHINGTON. (UP) - Secretary of Interior Fred A. Seaton declared last week his department will be prepared to defend in the courts his decision to prohibit commercial fish traps operations in Alaskan waters.

Seaton also said the mandatory oil import control program is aimed at stabilizing prices and encouraging domestic exploration for oil.

Oil drilling dropped off sharply in this country during the last four years and this was the major reason for imposing the oil import control program, he told a news conference.
