Full Text

We were presented yesterday by Mr. John P. Poss, with some specimens of the products of his farm in Fairfax county, about three miles from town—turnips, potatoes, beets, and carrots. He raised this year 250 bushels of turnips from a quarter of an acre of ground. They are remarkably large and fine—as are, also, the potatoes, beets, and carrots, and show what the land in the neighborhood of this town is capable of producing, with good management. Mr. Poss used only the ordinary manure, without any guano, or things of that kind. The articles to which we refer, are deserving of notice, as some of the best "fruits of the earth" we ever saw.
