On the movie lockout
To the Editor:
Since I first received your paper, I have been an ardent admirer of your policies, as an earlier letter of mine to you stated.
However, I am dismayed at one aspect of your features in view of the fact that you are united with labor and have the facts at your disposal. And this is that you continue reviewing Hollywood motion pictures, and even recommend the seeing of some, when you know that 9000 studio workers are locked out because the producers refuse to negotiate contracts with them. You printed several articles to this effect, and yet you ignore the request of the strikers that Hollywood pictures be boycotted.
Naturally, I am closer to the problem than you and have met many of these workers who are close to hunger for lack of any income for so many months. But since you have full realization of the problem, and stand fully behind these people, don't you think it would be a worthy and good thing for your paper to refuse to review any more movies until the strike is settled and to recommend to your many readers that they stay away from movies entirely?
I feel let down, but I am willing to hear your side of the story.

Main Argument
the newspaper should stop reviewing and recommending hollywood movies and encourage readers to boycott them until the lockout of 9000 studio workers is resolved, as it supports labor but ignores the strikers' request.
