An Important Change.—The Boise City Statesman of last Saturday contained the valedictory of its founder, publisher and editor, Jas. S. Reynolds, and the announcement that the establishment had been sold to Messrs. H. C. Street, C. L. Goodrich, and A. J. Boyakin.

The issue of Tuesday, of this week, contains the salutatory of Mr. Street, as editor, and the business card of the three proprietors and publishers.

The announcement is made, editorially, that the Statesman will be Democratic, and its publication as a tri-weekly and weekly will be continued as hitherto.

The new proprietors are well known to Idaho readers generally.

Mr. Street is an able, a vigorous, and a prudent editorial conductor, and his devotion to the Democracy cannot be questioned.

Mr. Goodrich is a printer, but has made himself more widely known as Newspaper Agent in this city, and last as Wells, Fargo & Co.'s Messenger on the Owyhee road.

Of Jud. Boyakin we can say, he is a printer whom we have known for about ten years, and as a typo, and Democrat, good man, and true friend, stands high in the estimation of all of his very many friends.

In the hands of the new publishers the Statesman will undoubtedly prove to be a very influential and valuable organ Democratic unity and strength in Ada county particularly, and in all Idaho generally, and we wish it may so abundantly prosper and grow in usefulness that its former Radical readers shall in good time be converted to its political theses, and will rejoice that the change in the conduct and politics of the paper has been made.

The Democracy of Idaho have only to act in unity and harmony, in all essential points, to maintain their ascendency in the whole Territory.

Let all labor to that end.
