Gideon O. Dixon a member of the Vermont legislature, lately decamped with about $15,000 belonging to the bank of Rutland, and one or more Boston banks. This money had been trusted to his integrity in Boston for transportation to Vermont; but on the road the love of money getting the better of his integrity, he turned his course to New-York, where he exchanged $5,000 of the money, thence he went to Philadelphia where he got $5,000 exchanged, and since then has not been heard of. Agents are in pursuit of the corrupt legislator, and it is hoped he will eventually be brought to justice.
