Ill health was the probable cause of death of a 41-year-old mother who was found fatally wounded in her home Wednesday.
Mrs. Essie Lee Neal, 41, 1712 East Wood died in Memorial Hospital, following the discovery of the tragedy by her three sons when they returned home from a movie.
According to investigators the wound was apparently self-inflicted.
One of the sons ran to a neighbors home and telephoned the father, Roy E. Neal who was attending choir practice at Phillips Memorial Church with their 15-year-old daughter, Geraldine.
Mr. Neal said his wife never completely recovered from an automobile accident in which she was involved last January.
The family came to Phoenix from Locksburg, Arkansas, in 1945.
Funeral date pending but will be held at Lucy Phillips Memorial Church of which she was a member and the Rev. L. J. Harper will officiate. Ragsdale Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
In addition to her family, she is survived by a brother, J. C. Bullock of Phoenix.
