Laddie Anderson was on the mound for the local squad against the "colored boys" and he held them to eight hits and struck out 10 men. The A. C. gained a one-run lead in the first inning, due to Laddie Anderson's two-base drive to deep center and Joe Gregory's burning single through the infield, however, the St. Louisans evened this up in their part of the second when Howard, leading off for the first hit off the A. C. twirler, stole second, advanced to third on a sacrifice and scored when Joe Gregory threw Fain's infield roller by the A. C's first baseman. The West Siders were then held in check until the fifth inning when they scored two more runs to nullify two markers the local squad had batted over in the third inning, and to knot the score at 3 apiece. However, the home team came right back and again gained a lead when Olin White, 17-year-old star, caught one of Pitcher Thomas' fast ones and sent it far over the left fielder's head for a home run. Not to be outscored the "colored boys" hopped on L. Anderson's curves for a double and single to tie the score for the third time. However, this was the last time it was tied as the A. C. batted around in their half of the seventh and scored four runs when P. Gregory tripled with two of his mates on base and scored a moment later on Eddie Stewart's home run wallop to center. The A. C. also scored two in the eighth, but these were useless as the St. Louisans only had one runner on after the seventh, when Kline singled to open the ninth, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and stood there while Laddie struck the next three men out.
In the Sunday game Clute held the visitors well in hand while the local team pounded three pitchers for a total of 20 hits and 20 runs. The box score of the Monday game follows:
