Most Unhappy Occurrence.--A gentleman informs us, that a lamentable occurrence took place at Clinton, Hickman county, in this State, on the 8th ult., between Thos. James, a member of the Kentucky Senate, and Robert Binford, one of the candidates to fill the vacancy in the House of Representatives occasioned by the death of Capt. George. The hostility of the gentlemen, we are informed, grew out of political causes and had nearly led to a personal collision on a previous occasion. The parties met in the street, on the 8th. inst. and after the interchange of two or three words, both fired simultaneously. James' ball passed through the stomach and liver and into the spine of Binford, and the two balls of the latter's pistol missed James and passed through the head of a respectable young gentleman by the name of Collins Binford and Collins both died in about half an hour
