PHILADELPHIA, August 17.

From Virginia we have Advice, that a Vessel from Glasgow arrived at Hampton the 6th Instant, in six Weeks passage; and that in one of the public prints which the Captain brought, there was an Account that the Duke of Marlborough, with 16,000 Foot, and 1200 Light Horse, had landed at Morlaix, 25 Miles N. E. of Brest, and were to march from thence for that place: That Admiral Anson, with 18 ships of the Line, was to go into the Harbour of the last mentioned place, in order that it might be attacked at the same time both by sea and Land: And that Admiral Hawke, with 16 Capital Ships, lay off Dunkirk, by which the Enemy, uncertain of our Designs, would be obliged to divide their Force. And we are further informed, that another Vessel had likewise come into Hampton, in a short passage from France, the Captain of which being examined, agreed exactly in what he said with the above Relation. Our Troops, in Landing, it is said, were opposed only by about 1700 Militia; and the Inhabitants, on the French Coast, in the utmost Consternation.
