Officials Of Loop Gather In El Centro

Representatives from every Valley League indoor team attended a meeting at the California hotel Thursday night to discuss rules and regulations to be observed in the loop which is scheduled to start June 1, with a game between Brawley and El Centro to be played on the Wilson school diamond.

The four teams to play in the Valley league are Calexico, El Centro, Brawley, and Holtville.

The group of officials decided at Tuesday's meeting to hold the opening game of the season in El Centro Monday night, June 1, although all other league games will be played throughout the rest of the season on Tuesday and Friday nights.

The El Centro-Brawley game will start at 8:30 with all officials of the league present. The Calexico-Holtville game will be played on Tuesday night as originally scheduled in order to make the opening game an outstanding success.

All proceedings of the gala opening will be broadcast over radio station KXO Games at 8:15

It was decided at the meeting to schedule all games to be played at 8:15 o'clock and each game must start on the dot. The home team will have the field for batting practice from 7:30 to 7:45 at which time the visitors will take their batting drill. At 8 the home team will take the field for fielding practice and at 8:05 the visitors will hold their practice.

All umpires will be furnished at each game by the home team.

The entrance fee, to be paid before May 1, will amount to twenty-five dollars.

Leo Madden, president of the league, turned in his resignation because he said he will be too occupied with business affairs. The league however, refused to accept his resignation.

Members of the loop then discussed ways and means of obtaining pitchers for the Brawley and Holtville teams after which the group adjourned until May 15.
