The following article is taken from the N. E. Galaxy. The editor of that paper plumes himself for his sagacity in foretelling events, by observing the signs of the times. As the prediction in this extract is very important, inasmuch as it relates to great events in the State of New-Hampshire, which are shortly to come to pass, we hasten to proclaim it, pro bono publico.
From conversations with sundry gentlemen of New-Hampshire, as well as from some other circumstances, it appears to us not improbable, that there will be a breeze in that state, within six months which may disseat his excellency, and place some other person in the chair of state. Such an event would probably remind Governor Woodbury, in a feeling manner, of the truth of the adage, Between two stools, &c. It would also afford him abundant cause of self gratulation, that he did not lose the honorary degree of LL. D. at the late commencement at Dartmouth through an affectation of modesty—False shame has prevented many a man from wearing deserved honor, and he who has the least of it, is most likely to thrive.—N. E. Galax.
