The Odd Fellow lodge at Winona held a big celebration Monday afternoon and evening which was attended by members of the order from all sections of the surrounding country. The occasion was the celebration of the 96th anniversary of the institution of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in America and the occasion was made all the more joyful for the Winona lodge members because of the fact that they were able that day to burn the mortgage on their hall. The afternoon and evening were given over to general enjoyment, followed by a big banquet in the evening, after which a dance held sway until the wee hours of the morning. J. S. Adair was chairman of the meeting and was ably assisted by John Seger and Dave Stanbury, while S. A. Anderson, of Grangeville, and Geo. M. Robertson, of this place, were the guests of honor.
Two auto loads went out from this place to take in the celebration, the visitors being Mr. and Mrs. Geo. M. Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. S. Downer, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. McLoughlin, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Hamlin, Misses Alma Robertson and Stella McLoughlin, and Harry Fryer.
