MELANCHOLY ACCIDENT—A melancholy accident occurred on the 14th of January at the Theatre Malibran in Venice, where a company of rope dancers and tumblers had been performing. A human pyramid having been formed, consisting of three men, one upon another's shoulders, the man who carried them all, began running with his load, when his foot slipping or catching somewhere, he lost his balance, in consequence of which the uppermost man fell, and had his brains dashed out upon the boards, and the second struck his breast so severely against the ground that his recovery was despaired of. The horror and consternation of the scene may be imagined. Both the victims of this accident were fathers of numerous families.
