NEWCASTLE, September 11.

A Gentleman in the neighbourhood of Morpeth has received a letter from his friend in Scotland, which contains the following particulars, viz.

A farmer at Cuerphen having made some cakes for poisoning of rats, by accident one of them fell out of the window and was taken up by a poor woman, who carried it home, and gave part of it to her husband, and five children, who eat it, and the rest she eat herself. Three of the children are since dead, and the husband and wife are in a dangerous way.
