The Dedication of a New Church
A Consecration of the Handsome Building—Excellent Music By the Choir
The event of low days in our city was the dedication yesterday, for the first time, of the portals of St. Vincent. The new edifice is situated in that part of the city at the corner of Grand avenue and Washington street, where the new home of St. Vincent's College deemed advisable and indispensable that their former cathedral worship had been hindered, were they to remove the institution from the center of business, hence they purchased the present site, on which the massive edifice now stands. The building is of college possession. Most Rev. Francis Mora, Bishop of the Diocese, Rev. F. J. M. Rombacher, Rev. Thomas J. Conaty, who was formerly in charge of the college, to get their wishes and desires of training, to answer the charge of the spiritual welfare.
