The Logan Colliery Strike.

Special to EVENING HERALD.

CENTRALIA, June 10.—The employes of the Logan colliery at Centralia continue on their strike against the reduction being enforced by the new superintendent, E. T. Conner. The colliery is still idle. The men made a proposition to the company, looking to a compromise of the difficulties, that the reduction be made five cents on a car instead of ten, which was refused. The report that Supt. Conner had been shot is unfounded, and also the sensational telegrams published in several county papers about an exchange of shots between the men and the superintendent. There was no shooting, and the strikers are conducting themselves in a quiet manner.
