THAW'S COUNSEL TO MAKE HASTE SLOWLY WILL NOT PRODUCE THAW IN COURT ON HABEAS CORPUS WRIT UNTIL DATE ANNOUNCED LATER.

Sherbrooke, Canada, Aug. 21.

Counsel for Harry Thaw announced this morning that they would not produce Thaw in the superior court today on the habeas corpus writ granted yesterday. Although 10 o'clock this morning had been agreed upon as the time the writ was returnable the lawyers explained that it was returnable at any time. The delay taken gives the defense every chance to strengthen Thaw's case. While in jail the fugitive is safe from the immigration department, which wishes to deport him.

Want Him Returned.

Albany, N. Y., Aug. 21. -The Canadian immigration authorities telephoned acting Gov. Glynn from Ottawa today that they would use every effort to have Thaw returned to New York State.
