4-H Member To Get Calf

A registered Guernsey heifer, won by W. J. Ross, Jr., as first prize in the 4-H pig club show last winter, will be delivered Thursday, it was stated today by Nellie M. Smith, assistant county farm agent. The calf was given by Wakefield Farm of Wake Forest.

The calf is Wakefield Sir Walter's Pamela-last, sired by Wakefield Sir Walter-296114, one of the young shes at Wakefield Farm, and the dam is Wakefield Queen-49125, who has a record of 12,068.6 pounds of milk and 633.7 pounds of butterfat. The calf was born October 24, 1942, and "is a nice straight, growthy calf and one that I am proud to present to you as winner of the pig club contest," according to a letter from E. H. Forbes, manager of the farm.
