Full Text

Nov. 3. A large American vessel, homeward bound, laden with serges, satinetts, muslins, taffeties, prunellas, fustians, moreens, and other articles, was the latter end of last month chased by two Algerine vessels, and sunk by a sudden gale. It is not known whether the crew were drowned, or taken up by the Algerines.

Two vessels from Cayenne had been taken by them, as we learnt by the master of the vessel, who brought the account of the fate of the American ship. The marine plunderers have been considerably reinforced in the Mediterranean; the San Battista, Cambiosa, richly laden on account of the republic of Genoa, fell a sacrifice to them.
