According to letters received this day from France, the negotiation with the Count of Loudoun was ready to break off. Affairs, as these letters, are in such a situation, that every thing concurs to persuade us, that there will be another campaign.
M. de Bussy having declared to the British Ministry, that the King, his Master, never would make Peace on the conditions which they wanted to prescribe to him, a grand council was held at St. James's; at the rising of which M. de Bussy was told, that the recall of Mr. Stanley had been warmly urged by Mr. P. and the Earl of B. who were strenuously opposed by the Dukes of B. and N. but that it was imagined the opinion of the former would prevail. In consequence of these advices, it was said that orders would be immediately sent to M. de Bussy to return home.
