A most brutal murder was perpetrated on Wednesday evening about 6 o'clock, the circumstances of which were as follows: A man named Wm. Parker, who was in the employ of Kelsey & Co, coal merchants, of Atlantic street, while driving a cart, accidentally ran over a child of a glass-blower named John Kennedy, but fortunately its injuries were slight. Kennedy swore revenge, and accordingly watched his opportunity to waylay Parker, which he did while he was driving his cart in Amity street, the day in question. He sprung at him, knocked him off his seat, thereby throwing his head under the wheel, which passed directly over his neck, breaking his jaw in two places, and producing immediate death. Kennedy made his escape but the officers are after him. Coroner Anderson is investigating the case, in the absence of Dr. Ball. N. Y. Tribune.
