Mrs. Opal Motter is director of the University of Miami Repertory Players and head of the dramatics department at the University of Miami for the past seven years.
The Repertory Players will present "Kind Lady" in the high school auditorium Thursday and Friday nights as a Chamber of Commerce entertainment feature.
After her preparatory work at Drake University, Mrs. Motter was graduated from the Anna Morgan Studio in Chicago. Mary Nash and Conrad Nagel, playing in Chicago in "The Man Who Came Back", had a vacancy in the cast and Mrs. Motter was chosen for the part. Then followed a series of engagements in the supporting cast of Laurette Taylor, Lynn Fontanne, Laura Hope Crews, Sidney Toler, Percy Ames, MacKay Morris, Minna Gombell, and many others.
On coming to Miami, Mrs. Motter became associate director of the Miami Civic theatre, where she was active until joining the faculty of the university.
