EXPLANATORY.
Says our polite and accommodating friend, Mr. Dennis, the Reveille editor, in reply to something that we said the other day touching certain rumored election hardships and irregularities in the Great East:
'Will the Appeal be kind enough to inform us where that precinct is located? We, as Clerk of the Board of Commissioners know that a Registry Agent was appointed for every precinct in the county and that precincts were established at all outside places wherever there was a sufficient number of voters to form an Election Board and this is the first we have heard that there was any complaint upon the subject, but "always go abroad if you want to learn the news at home." The Appeal has evidently been hoaxed or has got things mixed, as things are not done that way in Lander county.'
It will be remembered that we complained of certain reported derelictions on the part of the Board of Commissioners of Lander county. We cheerfully and contritely acknowledge our innocent and awkward error.
