A Deluge Of Robberies.

Guthrie, Okla., Feb. 1.-Two masked men broke into the residence of Louis A. Stanwood, a recluse, near Harvey, and tortured him by sticking a knife into his limbs and burning off his hair and whiskers until he gave up all the money he had, amounting to but a few dollars. They next visited the home of John Hensley and robbed him, stopped J. C. McGarlan on the road, robbed him of his money and knife, and were going to a fourth place when shots from a rifle drove them off. Luther Weaver and Will Henderson, sons of prominent farmers, were arrested and jailed, charged with the crime, which in this territory is punishable by imprisonment for life.
