Mr. Newton from the committee of commerce and manufactures reported a bill for the relief of Anthony Buck. Read and referred to a committee of the whole house on Friday next.

Mr. Pierson called for the consideration of his resolution laid on the table some days since, relative to an enquiry into the conduct of general Wilkinson.

The question on considering was taken by ayes and noes and carried--Ayes 84--noes 16.

The question then was on the passage of the resolution.

Mr. Love asked for a division of the question. The first member embracing that part of the resolution relating to Wilkinson being a pensioner of Spain, his connection with Burr, &c.

Messrs. Love, Rhea, Holland, M'Kim, Smilie and Taylor, opposed the resolution.

Messrs. Pitkin, Key & Sheffey, spoke in favor of the resolution.

Mr. Bibb moved to postpone the resolution indefinitely.

Mr. Lyon was in favor of the resolution and opposed to the postponement.

Mr. Macon was also in favor of the resolution and against the postponement.
