The Express.—The Union, alluding to the quotations recently made by the Express, from the N. Y. Day Book, (a treasonable sheet now defunct) and kindred papers, says:

It is really modest in the Express to copy extracts from such papers for the reading of loyal citizens in California, but this attempt to make converts to the doctrines of Jeff Davis is too shallow to have any other effect than to convince our people that if this same Express was only located in one of the Confederate States it would be the boldest, instead of being, as it is now, a most covert advocate of rebellion.
