WASHINGTON- Ford's anti-labor policies may further penalize its workers through loss of future defense contracts.

Sidney Hillman, labor member of the National Defense Advisory Commission, has lodged with the Secretary of War a vigorous protest and a demand for cancellation of a $2,012,700 truck order given the Ford Motor Company.

An original defense order given Ford for $122,000,000 worth of airplane motors was approved by Commission Chairman Knudsen without consulting Hillman. The same thing was done on the order for the trucks.

While it was argued by defenders of contracts to Ford that only the company could make the motors, Hillman pointed out that the trucks could easily be made in plants which treat labor in a decent way and which have not violated the Wagner act.

Hillman's demand for cancellation of the truck order paves the way for a show-down on the issue.
