Northumberland, May 25.
Agreeably to public notice given in sundry newspapers, at the request of gen. William Montgomery, a meeting was held on Friday last, at Danville, on the subject of establishing a Woollen Cloth Factory. Gen. Montgomery had carefully collected information from persons experienced in that business in various parts of the Union. The calculations made from the documents produced before the meeting, induced a belief that it would be a profitable institution, and were unanimously considered worthy of the attention of the citizens generally. Therefore it was
Resolved, That gen. Wm. Montgomery, James Laird, and Joseph Priestley, esqs. be a committee, to draw up articles of association, for the organisation of a company to promote the object aforesaid.
