Another Shakeup In
State Government

Columbia, May 4.-(A)--Another shakeup in state
government came today with the resignation
of the superintendent of the state
penitentiary A. Malcolm Scarborough
and the resignation from
the board of directors
of David G. Ellison.
Scarborough's resignation
was accepted by the board
effective the middle of May. Ellison's
resignation was put in the
hands of Governor Richards. The
board will meet again Saturday
morning at 10:30 o'clock to elect
a successor to Scarborough. The
appointment of Ellison's successor
is with the governor.
